Getting BIGGER in all the right places

strategic expansion
Strategic Expansion in a BIG way allows for not only our growth but yours as well.

BIG Logistics’ strategic expansion plans take shape.

A quick overview of the key population centers around the United States aligns naturally with key air and sea gateways that facilitate import and export international trade. For this reason, for BIG Logistics, a portfolio company of SecurCapital Corp, the current and future locations should come as no surprise to our customer base.

The building out of a national logistics network that allows us to support the west, east, and Gulf coasts, along with the Midwest and the Southeastern United States, means that the increased domestic consumption caused by the pandemic, and the rise of e-commerce logistics and final mile fulfillment require a physical presence in strategic locations.

Our Corporate Headquarters and home market of Dallas-Ft. Worth offers reliable, non-weather impacted air cargo operations year-round, is capable of two-day service to every point in the 48 contiguous states, and is within one day of the Mexican border – a trip within a trucker’s Hours of Service limitation. BIG’s twin locations in Irving at DFW Airport and Alliance Airport offer 363,000 square feet today. Further expansion is planned for Texas.

On the Gulf of Mexico, BIG Logistics Houston offers direct access to Asia-Gulf shipping lanes that avoid the congestion of the east and west coast ports. As the head of the distribution hub for ocean cargo, retail clients benefit from robust capacity and reduced delays by utilizing the gulf states for intermodal shipments as truck and rail options are bountiful, leaving Houston.

In 2020 in the face of the pandemic, BIG Logistics saw that the changes in the USMCA and the manufacturing and nearshoring trends warranted a larger investment in El Paso. Our new facility boasts 80,000 square feet of warehouse space, 12 dock height doors, and is only 7 miles from the Zaragoza Bridge crossing and El Paso International Airport. BIG Logistics has now set its eyes on Laredo, Texas, for additional gateways into Mexico.

As we look to the future, three locations/expansions are on our radar. The first is an expansion in Huntsville, Alabama, home to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, where astronauts are trained, and Cummings Research Park, the second-largest technology park in the country. Huntsville is also a key airport for charter and scheduled air cargo freighter service and services many automobile manufacturing companies in the area. BIG Logistics has plans to expand our Huntsville operations, building on the proliferation of government and defense contractors in Rocket City, USA (really!), a perfect match for our bespoke logistics solutions requiring expert guidance.

We have planned the other two office locations in California, the gateway for Asian imports, and Florida, the gateway to the Latin American region. From California, we will support operations up and down the west coast, the southwestern United States, and act as a bridge to Dallas-Ft. Worth. Our goal is the same for Florida and the east coast. BIG can expand to serve and support the bevy of logistics needs from South and Central America and the EU by opening in Florida.  Expanding into these regions will also further strengthen our pharmaceutical and cold chain capabilities.

Mission Statement: “BIG Logistics, inspired by its Founder’s focus on employees and its core values of Business, Integrity, and Growth, is driven to becoming the preferred logistics partner in the customer’s Global Supply Chain..”
